TIME IS FLYING BY SO QUICKLY ...

Wow, we can't believe 2007 is already coming to an end. Time does really fly by quickly !!! We take this opportunity to thank you, the millions of readers who have enjoyed OhLaLa in 07 and made it what it is today. Your support and encouragements are greatly appreciated :-)

Surprisingly, the weather in Paris is not "as bad" as we have expected it to be, as you can see on this picture taken this morning. But still, Alek and I are going to cut short our stay in France and return to Los Angeles in a couple of weeks. XOXO Alek & Steph

As always Alek and I are happy to share with you some of our photos from Paris. Those two photos were freshly taken this afternoon. The first one is (obviously) a view of the Eiffel Tower from Place de L'Etoile and the one below is the perspective from the Champs Elysées to Place de la Concorde fair-wheel.

HOLIDAY ON ICE IN PARIS

Today we invite you for a walk in sunny and freezing Paris. Of course, from where you are you won't suffer from the cold like we did but it was totally worth it :-) Make yourself a hot chocolate with whipped cream and enjoy the walk.

As you may have noticed on the first picture we have started our walk Place de la Concorde, with a beautiful scene of the frozen fountains.

Place de la Concorde naturally leads into the beautiful Tuileries garden. It wasn't crowded, probably because of the last minute Xmas shopping.

To end the tour, a picture of the Pompidou center and the Stravinsky fountain that will be included in our upcoming Reflection exhibition.

SIZE DOES NOT (ALWAYS) MATTER ...

Back in 1887 people were concerned that its somewhat phallic shape may cause women (and probably some men) to faint in the streets of Paris (I am not kidding!) All I can say is that if this phallic symbol still stands up to its success today, it's not a matter of size. Look below even the little ones are adorable ;-)

Little details always make a difference. When you walk in the streets of Paris or any city early in the morning and if you pay attention you may discover some "left overs" from the night before ...

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN PARIS

Even if it is for the best, changes are never easy. Coming back to France for a short period was not such an easy decision, because we knew this would be the last trip to Paris in a long time. Honestly, I am looking forward to spend a long period without seeing another plane and be with Alek without having to go on another trip on my own ... Once the decision was made to quit my old part time job, suddenly being in Paris took an all new meaning. I am not saying that the sky became blue and the birds were singing, but ... pretty much ;-)

For us who enjoy taking photos no matter the weather ... Paris is, I have to admit, one of our favorite cities. We took this photo over the weekend, during the only couple of dry hours we had. I hope you enjoy the shot as much as we enjoyed taking it. More photos of Paris here.

REFLECTIONS ON A SUNRAINDAY IN PARIS

Oh what a lovely Parisian sunday! Do I need to mention that it is cold!? So we have spent the weekend in family with my cousin and her husband who came to visit us in Los Angeles this past July. It was great to see them again especially since she is now 5 months pregnant ... don't do the maths, the future baby girl was conceived in the city of Angels ;-)

So we did ventured out even if the rain was pouring down, because we had to do some Xmas shopping, and what better place than Paris to do so !? I did take my camera in order to provide even more images to our upcoming LA exhibition of our "reflection" theme. Hope you had a fun and dry weekend.

PEOPLE HOLD ON ...

So here we are ...Paris, and it's exactly like we've expected it to be, fabulously cold and rainy ... it feels like we never lived here before and that isn't such a bad feeling !!! On the bright and colorful side we do get to enjoy a cool illuminated view from our condo of the Park and the Castle, where they are broadcasting live and "non stop" the Telethon fundraising event all weekend long (and yes, we do get to enjoy the live music too ... no need to turn the tv on).

IT'S A B€AUTIFUL DAY IN PARIS

I am glad I have managed to get out of the bed before sunset today to enjoy the first day of sun since I have arrived in Paris and since I'll be flying back to L.A on wednesday I don't really pressure myself with the time difference. The only difference I kind have a problem with, is the currency. As much as we enjoy spending our € in the US, spending them here is not as much fun. The fact that things are also way more expensive over here is not helping. All of our friends do really have problems since salaries do not increase when everything else does, more strikes on the way! Hopefully it's going to wait till I leave ...
