THE PERFECT 10 IN L.A. SURFACE MAGAZINE

We love Surface magazine and were happy to be invited to the Perfect 10 party that was recently held in Los Angeles. Each year the Avant Guardian Project by Surface magazine give an influential stamp of approval to dozen of undiscovered talents, simultaneously launching careers and catapulting emerging photographers into the industry spotlight.

OHLALA LICENSE PLATES LOS ANGELES

In Los Angeles you can spend a lot of time driving, hopefully we don't. But when I drive I always pay attention to the road first and then to the license plates ... sometimes you can read some really funny stuff. This weekend we have captured a couple of licenses we wanted to share with you ;-) A mini Austin 2HUGE and another proudly advertising the ALL BY HAND!

LOS ANGELES TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

Today is the 3rd and last part of our Griffith Park Mt Hollywood hike on monday. Have you missed part one and two !? When you leave the Observatory and venture a little further than the "promenade" the message is clear "Wildlife Habitat. Dangerous animals may be present including: Mountain Lions and Rattlesnakes for info call Park Rangers..."

The sign actually made me laugh (maybe because I was nervous) but I was picturing myself on the ground calling the rangers "I am sorry to bother you Mr Ranger but I just wanted to make sure the big cat eating one of my legs is a Mountain Lion ... Thank you".

It's so wild out there that the street signs had to adapt ... and a regular XING PED become XING HORSE ...

The site is amazing, even if right now it has this "scar" feeling because of the recent wildfires but the nature is slowly re-emerging from the ashes.

"ALONE" IN LOS ANGELES

This week we will be posting pictures we took at the Griffith Park on monday. I love those first two images, they translate pretty well the feeling you have when you hike the Mt Hollywood, it's like you're alone. The city is all around you but you can hardly hear any noise from it ... just the birds and maybe a mountain lion or two looking for breakfast ;-)

OHLALA LOS ANGELES BILLBOARDS

When most of the hottest billboards are located on the sunset strip, some outsiders aren't pretty bad either ;-) Like this ad for Christopher Brian located at the corner of Holloway Dr and La Cienega in West Hollywood.

HOLLYWOOD OLLYWOO ... WTF !!!

Don't worry, Los Angeles did not experienced a major earthquake, making the Hollywood sign letters fall down ... neither they were stolen and sold on ebay ... this is just the coolest view of the sign you can get only by hiking all the way up to Mt Hollywood Hiking Trail. It was a very hot and sunny day today and we will be posting more amazing photos we took later this week.

I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE RAIN IS GONE ...

After the hot and dry weather, yesterday was a very wet day causing mudslides threat and more evacuations orders !!! Packing and unpacking is one of the main activity for Malibu residents right now .... Today it's all back to "normal" but what's normal around here or in general you tell me ;-) Al least yesterday's rain lead to a beautiful sunset as you can see below.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEK // WORLD AIDS DAYS DEC. 1st

Today is Alek's birthday, and I take this opportunity to wish him a fantastic birthday and to tell him that I am so happy to share my life with him and that I love him deeply.

You all know that today is also a pretty important day, established in 1988 by the World Health Organization World AIDS Day is observed every year on December 1st to bring attention to the AIDS pandemic. The latest estimates by UNAIDS states that there are 33.2 million people on the planet who are living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. The disease still kills some 6,000 people each day.

Because real generosity is not only for the people that you know you can visit sites like World Aids Campaign, Aides, Aides For Aides and donate some of your time or money!

OHLALA LOS ANGELES ... A JULIUS SHULMAN MOMENT

Alek and I have been to the most amazing house ever !!! Way way before first coming to Los Angeles this is exactly how I was picturing a multi-million dollar home. The photography we took is very Julius Shulman inspired, for the fans, the Getty center is showing Julius Shulman’s archived photographs at the Central Library downtown until January 20th, 2008.

RUNYON CANYON // HOLLYWOOD HILLS

Today we take you for a Hollywood hike at Runyon Canyon. It was a perfect day to enjoy the beautiful weather and the fantastic views on the city, from the Hollywood sign to Downtown and even all the way to the beach.

Once you enter the Canyon, a little sign warn you about eventual rattle-snakes encounters. If you change your mind about getting into the Wild, you can always take the daily free yoga class. Fortunately the only animals we have met during our hike happened to be much more inoffensive than rattle-snakes ;-)

Once you reach the top of the hill, the view on the Hollywood Hills is just incredible ... so are the homes !!! It takes about 45 mns if you walk to go up and down the East Hill, see the map here. You can extend your hike by going up and down again on the west hill, see the photos here.

I have tried to do a little panoramic montage so you can enjoy the view ;-)
