:: USA :: This is probably the sickest news in the Heath Ledger tragedy. When peace, love and good energy is needed in those times, there are some people who think differently .... The anti Gay church announces plan to picket Heath Ledger's funeral. Kansas-based church led by Fred Phelps, known for their hatred of gays and protests at the funerals of gay-bashing victims and soldiers in the U.S. military.

"Heath Ledger thought it was great fun defying God Almighty and his plain word, God hates the sordid tacky, bucket of slime seasoned with vomit known as Brokeback Mountain and He hates all persons having anything whatsoever to do with it."

:: PUERTO RICO :: Governor said he would not block a referendum to toughen a ban on same-sex marriage in the U.S. island territory even though he believes the proposed constitutional amendment is unnecessary and divisive.

:: USA :: Gay couples no different than straight ones. Same-sex couples are just as committed in their romantic relationships as heterosexual couples and may be happier, say researchers who have studied the quality of adult relationships and healthy development. Their finding disputes the stereotype that couples in same-sex relationships are not as committed as their heterosexual counterparts and are therefore not as psychologically healthy.

GAY ADOPTION VICTORY IN FRANCE // ABC IS GLAAD // GAY UNION IN SPAIN // GLBT PLAY IN ANKARA

:: FRANCE :: It is an important victory of gay adoption rights. Emmanuelle B. 45y/o professor, has requested the rights to adopt without hiding her homosexuality. Her request has been refused in 1998 and was confirmed by state council too. But European Court of Human Rights have decided that refusal of adoption on the bases of sexual orientation is discrimination. The decision was made by 10 votes against 7. France was condemned to pay €10.000 for damages and about €15,000 procedural and lawyers fees. What does this means in practice ? France can not refuse the adoption rights on the discriminatory bases, and should change it's legislation to accommodate this decision. That is a fantastic news!!!!!

:: USA :: The nominations are in for the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, and ABC appears to be leading the pack in presenting positive portrayals of gay and lesbian issues on TV, scoring nods for the hit comedy series, as well as Desperate Housewives and new shows Dirty Sexy Money and Greek ::

:: TURKEY :: A unique play in an Ankara theater ended with a standing ovation last week as the little-known actors transsexuals and gays raising their voice against discrimination fought back their tears on stage.
