ELIZABETH AND CLIVE OWEN ;-) THE GOLDEN AGE

One of Alek's favorite movies is Elizabeth. So yesterday we have been to see Elizabeth The Golden Age. How can you not love a movie with Cate Blanchett, Clive Owen about the fantastic life of Elizabeth !!? Watch the trailer.

I haven't seen Elizabeth (I know, shame on me!) but I really enjoyed this movie. I love Cate and Clive, but I also LOVE the fascinating life of this woman. The official website is very well done and has a great section called "Time Line" that you should definitely check out.
Every single image of this movie could be a masterpiece by Rembrandt, some scenes are just stunning. The movie explores the romance between the "Virgin Queen" and noted adventurer Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen) ... how nice it would have been to cross the ocean with him at that time ;-)
Of course the movie got mixed reviews, but as always, I have to see things for myself. I don't usually read critics or really pay attention to them, because it really depends on who you are. I like to share my point of view and discuss but rarely take a one-way-opinion from someone I don't know. So for this reason it's up to you to decided if you are into Clive Owen as dirty adventurer ;-) I won't push you ...

You have to see the first movie, it was one of my faves & it's still Cate Blanchett's best performance. I enjoyed the second, but it's not as powerful. I usually love Clive & he looks hot here as Walter Raleigh. However, his storyline with Elizabeth dragged the movie & wasn't very convincing - probably because it's pure fiction. I loved the rest though, especially the visuals (costumes & cinematography). Cate saved the movie with her performance & I hope they make a third one as it's supposed to be a trilogy.

Even in his early days on TV, Clive Owen was incredibly. I haven't seen Elizabeth yet, but I'm sure Clive will be delightful in his part, he always is!

Alek's extremely right to lvoe Elizabeth. It was a really amazing film! i loved it.. so powerful.
And to think it was not at all one of your typical high budget films and I'm horrified by the fact that the best picture oscar and best actress oscar for this film were stolen by shakespeare in love and gwyneth paltrow! i mean what were the academy thinking!!!
haven't seen the new one. can't wait to!

"The Golden Age" is just alright. It is filmed beautifully and Cate Blanchett carries the entire movie with her geniusness, but Clive Owen was BORING. Great, he's sexy, but in a movie like this there needs to be more.
"Elizabeth" is far better, one of my favorites.
