JAPAN // KYOTO // THE CITY AND THE PEOPLE

Hope you're all having a great weekend. Let me tell you that summer is already in Paris. It hasn't been this hot since the 40's. and it feels nice ...
But let's go back to the our previous weekend with some cool photos we took in Kyoto Japan. Formerly the imperial capital of Japan Kyoto has a population of 1.5 million. Ravaged by wars, fires, and earthquakes it has been spared from the firebombing of WW II. With over 2000 Buddhist and Shinto Temples, as well as palaces and gardens it is one of the best preserved cities in Japan.
Japan is a unique blend of tradition and modernity, the high-tech-zen is everywhere. It's hard not to love it.

I just love those vending machines, they are in every-corner. You can also eat at those little food stands that is if you know what they are preparing.

If you come here and take a walk down "three-year" and "two-year" streets watch your step, slipping over on these streets brings three or two years' bad luck respectively !!! Thankfully we all stayed up ;-)

Now I let you enjoy the photos I took of the people of Kyoto, Geishas, Monks, Little baby buddha, Taxi Drivers, Shop Owners, Gardeners ... the people of Kyoto are just beautiful. Next sunday Kyoto // The Temples and The Gardens. Related post :: Easter Weekend in Kyoto ::

Kyoto is one of the world's great treasures. It was on the list to be A-bombed near the end of the second world war. Fortunately, that never happened. It's our home away from home in Japan.

You guys do some EXCELLENT photography in your travels! I seriously believe you should publish a coffee-table sized book. I love your understated but beautiful image of the geisha (especially in the carriage)! Excellent eye!!
