No, this is not cool! I love Paris, I love architecture, and I love my California roots; but even I know that that is a really, realy ugly building! I'm all for eco friendly and even weird futuristic building designs. . . but that is just bad! What does anyone else think? Isn't there some pissed off Parisians over this issue?

I just love it ... I live in Paris and La Defense is not in Paris. So it won't be like they build it next to Le Louvre or Notre Dame. It's a business center with already lots of buildings. We just need more cool buildings like that.

Looks pretty cool & it can't be more ugly than the skyscrapers that already exist at La Défense.
Peter, parisians are always pissed off about one thing or another. They are just...parisians.

It is a bit of an odd design, but I like it. Paris has always had a few buildings with unique architecture and this should fit right in.

I too think the design looks pretty cool, and echo some of the previous comments (especially Lulu's). First, it won't BE in Paris "proper", per se. It will clearly soften, and add contrast to those ugly skyscraper "boxes" that already exist at La Défense! Qu'une surprise! - that they chose a Californian architect.

IMO, the buildings @ La Defense are amongst the ugliest structures of any major city in the world..on the other hand, 'Historic' Paris has some of the most beautiful buildings in the world...but hate to see those monstrosities (in the distance) when visiting Paris.
