BRIAN KENT // OHLALA PARIS INTERVIEW
Born and raised in La La Land, Brian Kent is singing since his very young age. He was always involved in some type of performance based activity but it was the athletic side of performance that got his attention first. He was a competitive figure skater for years, but realized that his favorite part was performance and not practice. Since he is been developing his music skills and working with Clint Black, and Terry Clark... Was performing for a few years in different shows in Vegas and made a final move to the Big Apple to pursue his dream. Obsessions
Brian: I have so many, where do I begin…music, friends, family, creativity, cleanliness, “Family Guy”, French Fries, men, people watching, nudity, sleeping, dancing, leather, the beach, Red Bull, Vodka, “the Price is Right”, narrowing down my answers to this article, and too many more to mention…
Honesty
Brian: The most important quality a person can have! I am a firm believer in being as up front and honest with others as you can. Sometimes the truth might burn a bit, but finding out that someone lied can destroy the foundation which any relationship was built. Say it like it is!
Latitude
Brian: I always try and give it to people around me and hopefully get it in return. The world is not black and white and sometimes what we think is one thing is something completely different to another.
Advice
Brian: Within reason, live each day as if it might be your last! When we’re gone and reflecting on our lives, things that seemed so huge will seem so small and things that we made so small will be so huge…don’t be afraid to try ANYTHING, YOU are the only thing standing in your way!
Love
Brian: Do it unconditionally, that is the only way it can be true! I believe you MUST start with yourself first…once you have that, you will find it in others and others will see it in you.
Ambition
Brian: Having it is like having fuel for a car...it is the thing that drives your mental engine. Ambition allows you to fulfill dreams and make them reality. All my life people have said that I was ambitious, sometimes too ambitious, nonetheless, a quality you can never have too much of!
Perseverance
Brian: If you wait for things you want to happen to fall into your lap or quit after only trying a few times, they usually won’t come to fruition! You have to make them happen! No matter who says what, keep persevering until you get the result that YOU want! The one thing I have learned in this business is that you can’t take “no” for an answer...believe in yourself, after all this is YOUR life, what do you have to lose and what the hell does anyone else know about it!
Attitude
Brian: Breeds altitude, then better it is the higher you fly!
Respect
Brian: I respect ANYONE who is trying to make a difference for the better! A difference in the world, in someone else’s life, in their own life or any other way that shows they care about something no matter how they do it!
Intelligence
Brian: Is overrated, humor is far more important…while some level of intelligence is obviously necessary, I have found that some of the brightest people were also the most boring. Intelligence should be rated by how engaging a person is…
Sex
Brian: Is natural, sex is good, not everybody does it, but everybody should. Sex is natural, sex is fun, sex is best when it’s one on one!
