WELKOM IN AMSTERDAM

We have spent more time going down 5 floors, driving 20km to the airport, checking in our bags, boarding on KLM plane, than the actual 50 mns flight ! A great relief from our regular 12 hours between Paris and L.A, plus we avoid the jet lag ! Perfect ...
Perfect could also describe our first day in Amsterdam. When you spend too much time in Paris, you can forget that some cities can be organized ! 15 mns after claiming our bags we were in the heart of Amsterdam ! Our hotel, the Krasnapolsky is the center of the center ! Great location and amazing view from our room.

We were so excited that we've immediately dropped our bags and went to take a walk. The city is just fantastic, and on top of it you have the people of A'dam who are so nice to you, even if you stand right in the middle of their bike lane, because the tramway has just missed hitting you ... and here you are standing in the middle of a bicycles horde doing a choreography that "Le Cirque Du Soleil" would envy ...
After all those emotions we needed a drink, so we went to the Arc Bar in the Gay district. A few Cosmopolitans later we came back to our hotel, but on our way back we saw an amazing restaurant that I will mention in more details later ! The place is called ENVY and you HAVE to go there if you come to Amsterdam ! Italian food served as tapas in a great atmosphere, cute waiter and friendly customers (they better be because you are all eating on the same long, long, long table ... just like a big italian family reunion, noisy and fun, as long as you are not sitting next to your overweight aunty who will take as a personal mission to feed you to death), and the food is absolute perfection !

Now the night has just begun ... and we have heard there are some cool places to go out to burn those "italian" calories ;-) // Bloggers In Amsterdam

Enjoy your visit to Amsterdam. Looking forward to hearing more.

Ooooh, forgot to mention: make sure you go to a gay Sunday night party called DE TRUT. I had such an enjoyable time there. It's a not-for-profit party run by volunteers; the venue is dank and is the size of someone's basement, but the drinks are cheap, the crowd is young and relaxed, the vibe is laid-back and the music is amazing. It's located at Bilderdijkstraat 165 -- make sure you go!
(Besides, what do you have lined up Sunday night, anyway?)

that's a nice picture of a bicycle, a wall painting, and a graffiti.

If you like a organized party place, come to Iceland. We have the best parties and we don't spend one minute on bullshit.
We are colder than southern europe, but hell, we are more fun ;)

Hey guys, Im In the States and I Love Amsterdam and visit often. It would be nice if you could spare us the European rivalry and give the best parts.lol To me Amsterdam is a combination of the old and most cutting edge advancement you can find in a modern city and thats a huge part of its charm: even with its first rate economy, you can walk on a bridge on one of those rare snowy nights, and with the street light and the fug, you feel like you just step in a "conte de fees" (as in Paris by the way)I was lucky enough to kiss my companion in one such occasion, and you can't put a price on that...so I hope your stay is enjoyable as well.
