JAMES BLOND NOT SUCH A BAD CHOICE !

Daniel Craig is actually filming Casino Royale the new James Bond ! I was not too excited about the choice ... Ok I was wrong :-) Even if I still believe that Clive Owen would have been perfect for the role !

He looks great! A friend says he must have been taking steroids to bulk up so quickly, but I think a good trainer, the right diet and lots of time working out is all it takes to make fast gains.
Not to mention the motivation of being set for life thanks to a recurring role in a huge series. Good trainer too because his new bulkier muscles are very well proportioned.

Too bulked-up? Well for a 60's-era Bond I would agree; but for a man with his job description in the 21st-century I can see it. Everyone tends to forget that Bond is a highly-trained and skilled killing-machine, not a soft unofficial-cover operative living under the radar. A modern Bond would be in the gym, dojo, or field-course everyday...even after a late-night session at the casino. He's a thinking-man's hit-man for our times...irresistable to all women...nd maybe a few of the guys? It is the 21st-century...even if it's just to lead the guy-on and to complete the mission.

he's been buff and hot for some time .. see him shirtless in the first lara croft: tomb raider movie .. what i'm worried about is his personality. dour bonds make for boring bonds (as in timothy dalton). pierce brosnan had the body and the personality. we know craig has the body. i'm still unsure about the latter.

I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit. He's just gross, I'm sorry a buff bod is a dime a dozen in hollywood...his face is nasty.

Yes, finally a SEXY James bond. It looks like Casino Royale will be the first James Bond movie I'll see in a cinema. Yes, shock, horror, I know. But I have never been a James Bond fan. I actually like Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby's version best - which, again shockingly are the two 'lesser' James Bond in many people's eyes. I actually hate Pierce Brosnan version of Bond. That smarmy look of his was too annoying for my taste.

Clive Owen would have been the better choice!

I fell in love with Sean Connery as Bond and think the others have been pale imitations. I agree that Clive Owen would have been the perfect person to carry the legend forward.
However, Daniel Craig is a fine actor and very appealing in a rough-hewn way. Though I had my doubts about his being suave enough, when I saw him in the British thriller "Layer Cake" in a tux, swanning about, I thought: He can do it.
I agree with whoever said the bulk is what we'd expect from a contemporary Bond. Ditto the edge of roughness. After all, look at Jack Bauer in 24!
